Frances Waymire Evans

September 23, 1940 — August 7, 2025

Frances Waymire Evans passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, just like she lived her life.

She was born on September 23, 1940, to Robert Augustus Waymire and Inez Gibson Waymire in Overton, Nevada. Frances was one of six siblings, Connie Waymire Whitney, Robert “Bobby” Waymire (deceased), Kay Waymire Hills (deceased), David Waymire (deceased), and Jean Waymire Whipple. She was raised in Moapa Valley, Nevada and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1963 and later from Weber State College in 1988.

She married Richard Wayne Evans in 1961 in the St. George, Utah Temple. Together they raised a family in Northern California and Northern Utah. They served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California Anaheim Mission from 2003-2004. Richard predeceased her in 2013. She is survived by her six loving children, Michael Lloyd Evans (Deborah Boman), Denise Evans Flint (Mark Flint), Marjorie Ann Evans Guymon (Gary Guymon), Laura Jean Evans Larsen (Travis Larsen), Steven Robert Evans, and Holly Evans Pendleton (Chad Pendleton). She has a cherished posterity of 20 grandchildren (Bradley Mark Flint, deceased) and 8 great grandchildren, with 2 on the way.

Frances was a gifted pianist and organist. She freely shared this talent throughout her life, teaching, playing for numerous choirs, soloist, and church functions. She also organized several choirs and served as chorister.

Frances was a loving and patient mother who sacrificed greatly for her family. She never raised her voice or spoke an unkind word. She will be dearly missed.

Services for Frances will be held August 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel located at 1600 S 4500 W, Syracuse, Utah 84075.
