Fae Parkinson Stegen, 89, died Friday, May 4, 2007 at Washington Terrace Health Services after a long and healthy life.

She was born December 28, 1917 in Sparks, Nevada, a daughter of Joseph Kirkman and Lavera Lee Butterworth Parkinson.

On October 5, 1940, Fae married Joseph W. Stegen, Jr. in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in June of 1953. Joseph preceded her in death on March 16, 1999.

She lived in the Ogden area most of her life.

Fae was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught in the Primary, Sunday School and Mutual. She served in the Primary Presidency and was a Visiting Teacher.

She retired from the Internal Revenue Service where she worked as a tax examiner for many years.

Fae was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Fae enjoyed reading, needlework and spending time with her family in her home.

Surviving are one son and one daughter, J. James (Christine) Stegen, North Ogden; Kathleen F. (Joseph) Stilwell, Washington Terrace; five grandchildren, Joseph Stilwell, Jonathan Stilwell, Scott Strebel, Shannon Shirra and Shane Stegen; nine great-grandchildren with one on the way, and one great-great-grandchild with another on the way.

Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Wendell J. Parkinson, North Ogden; LaRue Parsons, Colorado Springs, CO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, David William Stegen; her parents; brothers, Lee K. Parkinson, Donald E. Parkinson, Joseph N. Parkinson, Kenneth Parkinson; and sisters, Ila Harned, Wanda Parkinson, Dorothy M. Parkinson and Evelyn Smith.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
