EVA MAYAGOITIA
Eva Mayagoitia, age 95 was lead from this life by her son Hector. Eva was born April 8th, 1916 in Jerome, Arizona. Eva was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Eva''s Father was Antonio Mayagoitia and her mother was Beatriz Jaurrieta. Eva had three sister; Berta, Beatriz, Rosario and two brothers; Antonio, & Carlos. Eva''s family moved to Mexico when she was a small child. They lived in Chihuahua and a small town in Durango, where her Father worked for the rail road as a Station Master. Eva lived during the Mexican Revolution; her parents were very good friends with the General Poncho Villa. Eva had memories of Poncho Villa coming to visit and she would sit on the floor and play with Poncho''s spurs on his boots while he visited with her Father.
Eva went to school in Chihuahua, Mexico and married Ramon Rodriguez on April of 1935. Eva and Ramon had five children; Hector, Celia, Maria Teresa, Jorge, Jose. Eva and Ramon got divorced around 1948.
Eva married Jose Maria Recio in 1951 and had two children; Laura and Alfonso. Eva came back to the United States to live in El Paso, Texas and then moved to Los Angeles, California. Eva and Jose were divorced in 1956. Eva worked during her life as a seamstress, cook, sales person, singer, mother & house wife. Those that preceded Eva in death were her parent, four of her five siblings, her son Hector & her grandson Daniel Lowry. Eva has seven children, 27 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and five and a half great-great-grandchildren. Eva was very proud of her heritage and her family.
Grandma Eva loved to spend time with her children, and family. Her willingness to help her family in any capacity whether it was babysitting, or just listening was an example of the love and service she was always giving to her family. Eva loved to travel with her family. She had the opportunity to visit many places in her life time. Eva was always trying to make the world a cleaner and better place for all. Eva was never one to sit without having her hands busy; she was always knitting a blanket, slippers, sweaters, or center pieces. As we see and wear the many things that she created here on this earth we will not only be warmed in body but we will be reminded of the warm love she has for each of us. Eva is loved and will be greatly missed.
