Kae Memmott Weaver

February 20, 1936 — May 13, 2023

Ermona Kae Memmott Weaver, 87, of Layton, Utah. Born February 20, 1936, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 13, 2023. She was born in Richfield, Utah to Ermine Leavitt and Thomas Kemner Memmott.

Kae grew up in Bountiful, Utah. After she lost her mother at age 12, she helped raise her siblings. She graduated from Davis High School and married the love of her life Samuel Duane Weaver in the Salt Lake City Temple. Duane and Kae made their home in the Kaysville/Layton area where they raised their 6 children.

Throughout her lifetime Kae enjoyed hosting and spending time with her extended family and friends. Her most anticipated event of the year was her Annual 4th of July BBQ and waterslide. If she wasn’t busy in the kitchen making her famous apple turnovers, sweet rolls, and pies you would find her out in her garden. She loved to share her talents and teach her grandchildren baking and canning. She enjoyed attending recitals and sports games for her children and grandchildren as well as traveling to see those who lived a far. She had a love for cross stitching and quilting as well as camping and traveling the United States and Canada with Duane.

Kae was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a chosen daughter of God. She loved the gospel and served diligently throughout her life in many callings including Ward Primary President, Relief Society President, and Stake Relief Society President. Her favorite lifelong calling, beginning at age 17, was that of ministering. She loved and served all those that she met, including the people of the Philippine Islands during her and Duane’s mission.

Kae lived a life of service, was an elect woman, and an inspiring example to all. Her grace and kindness will truly be missed.

Kae was preceded in death by her parents, Julie May Memmott her second mother, her brother John “Mike” Memmott, sister-in-law Jerrilyn Memmott, brother-in-law Doug Roberts, and cherished grandson Stewart Duane Wayment.
