Ellis Earl Bruch Jr., known for his quick wit and mischievous sense of humor, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by family in his Clearfield, Utah home. Born on December 7, 1944, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Ellis Sr and LaVonta (Lee), Ellis lived a life full of love, laughter, and service.
Ellis was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Army, a period in his life he cherished and often recounted with both pride and humor. After his service, he dedicated many years to Hill Air Force Base, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement in 2005. His colleagues will remember him not just for his work ethic but for his knack for lightening the mood with a well-timed joke or playful prank.
On November 8, 1968, Ellis married the love of his life, Linda, a partnership that spanned over five decades. Together, they built a family filled with laughter and love. Ellis was a devoted husband and a proud father to his sons, Ellis III and Evan. His family and love of the outdoors was the center of his world, and he took immense joy in spending time with them in the mountains teaching his boys to hunt and fish, and to cherish the outdoors. So many incredible memories were created in the mountains of Utah.
Ellis' legacy lives on through his beloved wife Linda, and his sons, Ellis (Amy) and Evan (Melisa), five grandchildren and one great grandchild, sister Barbara (David) and many extended family members, who carry forward his humor and zest for life. He leaves behind a treasure trove of fond memories and stories that his family and friends will continue to share and cherish.
A graveside celebration of Ellis' life will be held on June 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering a man who brought so much joy and laughter into their lives.
Ellis will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. His spirit, humor, and love will remain in our hearts forever.
