Elliott B. Hampton II was born on December 6, 1930 to Elliott B. Hampton and Mary Isabella Mackay in Salt Lake City, Utah. Elliott spent his early years in Vernal, Utah. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1948, where he was a State Champion for the High School Rifle Team. Elliott attended Weber State University. He proudly served in the Korean War.
Elliott started his career at Hill Air Force Base in 1951 as a Equipment Specialist. He spent may years as a manager. He retired in 1985. He furthered his career at McDonnell Douglas as an Aerospace Logistics Consultant.
Elliott was avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish and hunt. He received many trophies for Archery Shooting. He loved to race snowmobiles in either snow or mud. His top speed record for snowmobile racing was 107 MPH. He loved boating and spent many hours in the wilderness with family and friends. He earned his solo pilots license and was an amateur radio operator.
Elliott married Doris Marshall. They later divorced. He married Connie Mary Walker on November 22, 2000. Elliott and Connie fished and hunted together as well as took several trips to Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska. They loved camping and were the camp chefs for SD Outfitters for many years.
Elliott is survived by his wife, Connie, his sister, Virginia Kendall and his brother Larry (Judy) Hampton. His children; Joe D. Hampton, Denny William Hampton (Annie), Elliott Brent Hampton (Sally), Dale J. Hampton, and Kent L. Hampton. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott Hampton and Mary Hemmingsen, his sister, Lorraine Frazier, his brothers-in-law; Bud Frazier, Norman (Comp) Compton, his daughters-in-law Cindy Hampton, Janet Hampton, and grandson Mathew Hampton.
The family would like to thank Natalie, Willow, and Sydney from Inspiration Hospice for taking care of Bud during his final months.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.
