Ella Long Folsom

Ella Long Folsom, born on July 21, 1931, in Franklin, Idaho, departed from this world on September 2, 2025, enveloped in the warmth of her Heavenly Father. A remarkable woman, dedicated her professional life to the Department of Defense, where she worked with steadfast devotion before enjoying a well-earned retirement.

Ella was not only a diligent worker but also a nurturing soul whose heart embraced all who had the privilege of knowing her. She possessed an innate kindness that radiated throughout her life; her soft-spoken demeanor and gracious presence were hallmarks of her character. Never one to utter a harsh word, she exemplified the very essence of gentility, leaving an indelible mark on her family and friends alike.

A proud graduate of Ogden High School, Ella cherished the time spent with her friends during her youth and carried the joys of those memories into her vibrant adulthood. Her laughter, often echoing days after hearing a joke, remained a testament to her joyful spirit. Those fortunate enough to attend her Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings knew well the love that filled her beautiful home, which she decorated with a touch of elegance and care.

Ella's passions extended beyond her familial joys; she delighted in traveling, sharing countless adventures with her beloved husband, James. The simplicity of camping with her family brought her immeasurable happiness, as did her love for sewing and her fondness for animals, which enriched her life's tapestry.

While Ella grieved the loss of her husband, James Folsom, along with her parents, siblings, grandson Jaden Parent, and granddaughter Starla Spring Spencer, her enduring legacy lives on through her cherished family. She is survived by her daughters, Robin (Armando Kelly) Christine Izatt, Karry (Russell) Larson, Nan (Steve) Shafer, Tammy (Randy) Bockas, as well as 18 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-great-grandchildren. Her family was her crowning joy, the very embodiment of her proudest accomplishments.

As we remember Ella, let us celebrate a life defined by compassion, humor, and unwavering love. May we honor her memory by embracing the qualities she so freely shared with us all.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
