Elizabeth Ann Birt

Elizabeth Ann Birt, 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024. She was born on July 23, 1944, in Ogden, Utah, to John F. and Ruth Jensen Mathis. She grew up in South Weber and attended Clinton Elementary, North Davis Junior High, Davis High School, and Weber State College. 

She married John Sheldon Birt in September of 1967, in South Weber, Utah. They raised their family in Utah. John passed away on November 14, 1994. 

Elizabeth was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several callings including a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple.

She worked as an LPN at the Weber County Hospital in Roy, Utah. 

Elizabeth enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and doing needle point. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. 

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Kevin Birt of West Valley City; Jim (Lori) Birt of Cheyenne, WY; and Shelene Wallis (Phil Harris), of Spirit Lake, Idaho; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Sheldon Kerry Birt; her parents, one brother and one sister. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
