Elaine Charlton Brown, passed away peacefully in her home in Pleasant View, Utah, on June 2, 2022 at the age of 89.

Elaine was born to Isabell and Thomas Charlton on April 5, 1933 in Ogden, Utah. She was the youngest of 13 children. She was raised on a farm in West Weber and helped with the farm chores and animals on the farm. She attended Weber High School and graduated in 1951.

She met her husband, Ernest D. Brown, at a dance at the Ogden 3rd Ward. Ernie was scheduled for the draft, so they decided to get married before Elaine graduated from high school. They were married on December 23rd, 1950 at her home in West Weber. She and Ernie began their family soon afterwards with the birth of their oldest daughter, Diane. They were subsequently married in the Logan Temple on November 24, 1952 and were sealed with their daughter, Diane at that time.

Her family continued to grow with the birth of Cary, Stan, Nanette and Tommy. She was a great supporter of her husband and his goals to become an engineer. She always was loving and supportive of anything her children wished to do and a wonderful role model. She loved to play pinochle, walk/run with her friends 5 days a week, bowling, travel, temple work, and crafts. She was particularly good at painting and dressing porcelain dolls for children and grandchildren. She was the best cook and loved family gatherings.  She will be missed tremendously.

Surviving is her husband, Ernest D. Brown; brother, Junior Blaine Charlton; children and spouses are Diane Brown Browning (Thomas), Cary Vic Brown (Julie), Stanley Dee Brown (Joyce) and Nanette Brown Berrett. Those passing before her are Thomas Lee Brown and Robert Berrett. They have 16 grandchildren, Jessie Paul, Samuel Browning, Teresa Larsen, Melissa Russell, David Brown, Steven Brown, Jen Anderton, Breanna Walker, Nathan Brown, Kristen Crandall, Stacy Hanna, Tenille Cannon, Candace Berrett, Preston Berrett, MeChel Bauer and Taylor Jones. They have 42 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant View 12th Ward Church, 900 W Pleasant View Drive. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
