Edith Ann DeLapp

North Ogden, UT–Edith Ann DeLapp, 62, a long-time North Ogden resident, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2023, at Legacy House of Ogden, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Delta, Utah on May 11, 1961, Edith was the youngest of six children born to John Anderson and Shirley Harris DeLapp. She was raised in Delta and later in Salt Lake City, and also lived in Amarillo, TX, Grand Junction, CO, Jerome, ID, and Tooele, UT before settling in North Ogden.

After graduating from Skyline High School, Edith finished her Bachelor of Science at Utah State University.

Edith was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked as a dietician for the University of Utah Dialysis Center (later Davita) for many years.

Edith loved to make crafts, collect things, help stray cats, go to recreational events at the family mountain property, and interact with her nieces and nephews. She loved to visit friends and neighbors and was a ‘professional garage saler’ She was known at the DI on a first-name basis.

Edith was a member of the Ogden Garden Club. She will be remembered for her kind and mothering spirit, her decisiveness, and for being a good friend to many.

Edith is survived by her brothers, John Paul (Karla) DeLapp, Salt Lake City; Lloyd (Virginia) DeLapp, Manassas, VA; Gordon (Renae) DeLapp, Roosevelt, UT; Robert “Bob” (Verna) DeLapp, Coalville, UT; and by many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Dorothy Boyle.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N Washington Blvd., North Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Delta City Cemetery.
