Edith Christensen

November 20, 1938 — July 22, 2019

Edith Brown Christensen, 80 years old, departed this life on July 22, 2019 at her home in Washington Terrace.  Born November 20, 1938 in Logan, Cache, Utah. Edith graduated from Logan High School and married her high school sweetheart, Vernon J Christensen in the Logan Temple on Sept 19, 1957.  She lived in Ogden for 56 years where she raised her family.

Edith’s life was centered on her family.  She was a doting wife, loving mother, and fun grandma.    She was thoughtful, caring, and welcoming to everyone.

Active in the church, Edith served in many different callings including Sunday School, Primary, Relief Society, and Young Women’s organizations.  She also served a mission with her husband at the Bishop’s Storehouse and Dry Pack in Ogden.  She was active in the Lion’s Club and worked many years as a school lunch lady at Bonneville High School.

Edith loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, boating, 4-wheeling and hunting with her family.  She spent many happy hours crocheting, quilting and sewing.  She crocheted for everyone she knew and people looked forward to receiving one of her hand-crafted blankets.  Service was important to Edith, and she was always helping her neighbors and friends.

Edith is survived by her husband Vernon J. Christensen, her three daughters: Kris Ann Antonio of Ogden, Sonia Noall (Alan) of Bountiful, and Shelie Jenkins (Jim) of Riverdale.  She is also survived by her sister Lois Hess of Ogden, her eleven grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents  Ira and Emma Brown, her four brothers DeAlton, Francis, Edward, and Marriner; one sister, Clarice Renmeister; and one great-grandson, Rowan Jenkins.
