Edgardo Cokee Claveria
Edgardo Cokee Claveria, of Ogden, Utah passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2012 in McKay Dee Hospital after a short fight against cancer.
Born in Naga, Camarines Sur, Philippines, July 18, 1949, to Salvador and Lourdes Claveria, Edgar was an excellent student who had a penchant for mathematics while attending a Chinese school. He received a bachelor''s degree in Accounting from the University of Nueva Caceres.
He lived most of his life in the Philippines where he enjoyed the food and culture and being surrounded by his friends and family. He was an excellent cook in the Chinese cuisine. He moved to Utah in 2002 with his beautiful wife, Liwayway, to start a new life in pursuit of the "American Dream." In just three short years of working hard, he and his wife were able to buy their own home, two cars, all while working for companies that they loveda"something that is truly an accomplishment for a couple who came here with little. Edgar knew that working hard for his family would pay off and it did.
Edgar is survived by his wife, Liwayway, of 37 years. He is also survived by 8 siblings, Dolly, Grace, Addie, Ruby, Delia, Ofelia, Ermin, and Andy. He was a wonderful uncle to his many nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, and grand-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th Street. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
