After a long and happy life of 86 years, DuWayne Dee Anderson has returned to his heavenly home to reunite with his parents, Donnel Sharp Anderson and Lucille Rosengren, and grandparents. We both mourn and rejoice at his passing.
On Wednesday, April 15 he peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father, whom he loved and served throughout his life. He lived most of his life in Kaysville, Utah, though he was born in Union (Sandy area), Utah on December 9, 1939, and raised in the Salt Lake City area.
On June 18, 1964, he married Sally Bloxham in Kaysville, Utah. They were later sealed November 6, 1975, in the Ogden Utah Temple. After making their home in Kaysville, Dewey and Sally raised six sons: Darin (Joyce), Blake (Liz), Eric (Alison), Tyson (Erika), Spencer (Mandy), Samuel (Christy), and one daughter Katie (Kyle) Shaw. Dewey is Grandpa to 25 grandchildren whom he dearly loves and 3 great grandsons, with a great granddaughter on the way.
Dewey always gave his all for his family with hardly a thought for himself. Always unselfish and giving. Surely his service to his family and those who have gone before him will earn him a glorious reunion. We will deeply miss his quiet presence and steady support, hallmarks of his long and dedicated career at Boeing (10 years) and Williams International (27 years).
Temple Tuesday was his favorite day of the week. Dewey and Sally served a mission in Clinton, North Carolina in 2004. One of the highlights in his life was his service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Even with all his challenges with his hearing, it never stopped him from living the Gospel and participating in everything.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building at 1039 E. Crestwood Road in Kaysville. Friends may visit with family Wednesday, April 22, from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road, and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment at Kaysville City Cemetery.
In honor of Dewey’s dedication to serving others, please consider a contribution to Humanitarian Services.
