Duane A. Heslop

Duane A. Heslop, 87, passed away on May 9, 2016 in Mesa, Arizona.  He was born in West Weber, Utah.  He was the son of George Ammon, Jr. and Sarah Mae Simpson Heslop, born on December 15, 1928.  Duane attended Weber County Schools.  He was raised in West Weber until he moved to South Ogden.

He married Fay Bennett.  They were later divorced.  He went onto marry Bonnie L. Campbell on November 16, 1963 in Elko, Nevada.  They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 24, 1989.  He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Duane and Bonnie served a mission at the Mesa Arizona Family History Center.

He retired from DDO in April of 1989.

Duane is survived by his lovely wife, Bonnie; five daughters, Zelma Mae Stathis, Rae Jean (Lamar Miller). Irene (Roy) Cottham, Vicki (Morris) Blowers, and Carol (Jimmy) Price;  one sister, Ruth Taylor; one stepdaughter, Denise Bullock; three stepsons, Marvin (Nida) Campbell, Jeff Campbell, and Dale (Cindi) Campbell; 39 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, and one special grandson, Tony Pinkston and his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two grandsons, one stepson, and one stepdaughter.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
