“Ham Bone”
Douglas R Hamblin, 54, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 5, 2012 of a heart attack at home surrounded by his lifetime companion Jodi and K-9 Daughter Eve.
He was born July 6, 1957 to Gene Hamblin of Layton, and Marilyn Fraizer Hamblin of Ogden. Doug worked as an equipment operator; he loved playing in the dirt on loaders. He enjoyed camping, fishing, music, family, and friends, also being the biggest smart ass you will ever know.
Doug is survived by three children, Mandy Jean Hamblin, Ryan Douglas Hamblin and Brandi Ann Hamblin all of Ogden; four granddaughters; four grandsons; brother Mark Hamblin of Portland, Oregon; sister Peggie Jean Hamblin of Evanston, Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by parents, Gene Hamblin and Marilyn Fraizer Hamblin, uncle Craig Morley, and very good friend Jay (Jolly) Sevy.
A private memorial service to celebrate Dougie’s life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 3 p.m. for family and friends at 433 East 1100 North Ogden, Utah. Cremation entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Doug will be missed and is leaving a huge hole in life. In lieu of flowers, we are asking that people donate money to Doug Hamblin at any America First Credit Union.
