Dorothy Jean Andrews Wright
Dorothy Jean Andrews Wright born January 27, 1927 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska returned home into her Heavenly Fathers loving arms on Tuesday, March 6, 2012.
She was raised on a beautiful farm with loving parents and family. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School and attended Scottsbluff Junior College.
A handsome young Marine came to visit Dorothy''s brother, Charles, his Marine buddy, and quickly swept Dorothy off her feet and they married three weeks later. They lived in Utah, Nebraska and later, settled in Kaysville, Utah to raise their family. During their marriage Dorothy followed George in his many adventures, which included a quanset hut in Logan, Utah. A fire look-out tower in Yellowstone, and many unbelievable camping trips all over the United States.
Dorothy was able in her life to visit every state in the United States. She also traveled to Japan, Canada and Mexico. She loved traveling. She served valiantly as a member convert in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions. She taught by example and lived a life of service despite her physical challenges. Her concerns were always for others right up to her death. Her joy in life was to be with her family!!!
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, her son Kim Walter Wright, her daughter, Jeannie Simmons, sister, Erma Anstey and brother Charles Andrews.
She was survived in death by her daughter Laurie (Val) Noble, Clearfield, Utah. Andrea (Brian) King, West Point, Utah. Son-in-law Bill Simmons (Donna), Layton, Utah; daughter -in-law Atsuyo Wright of Kaysville, Utah; sister Darlene(Bill)Morton, Woodbury, MN; brother Eugene (Helen) Andrews, Garden City, Kansas.
She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren with another two on the way , and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Evans Meadow Ward, 752 N. 3700 W., Layton. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
