Dorothy Mary Gelinas

Dorothy Mary Gelinas, 93, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

 

She was born February 4, 1929 in Fitchburg, MA to Sylvain and Edna Legere Belliveau.

She was raised and educated in Fitchburg, MA and graduated from high school in 1946.

During her lifetime, she lived in Fitchburg, MA, Hawaii, San Diego, CA and Roy, UT.

 

Dottie was raised Catholic with strong Christian values and deep faith. She prayed daily and was devoted to her family.

 

She married Norman Henry Gelinas on October 18, 1947 in Fitchburg, MA at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. They had one son, Bruce.

 

She liked crossword puzzles, watching soap operas and entertaining herself with tabloids, though she didn’t take any stock in “trash papers”.

 

Dottie loved her family and had a keen sense of humor.

 

She is survived by her son, Bruce M. (Medi) Gelinas, Roy; grandchildren, Marc (Angie) Gelinas, Syracuse; Nicole (Nate) Allen, North Ogden; great-grandchildren, Britnie Marie Pack, Erica Nicole (Joe) Allibone, Angus (Anna)  Christiansen, Easton Gelinas; great-great-grandchildren, Jack Wyatt, Amelia and Olivia Allibone; one brother, Edward A. (Lucille) Belliveau, Fitchburg, MA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, three brothers, Edgar, Joe,  and Arthur and sister-in-law, Ethel Belliveau.

 

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Roy City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
