Dorothy Ann Ekstrom passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the age of 87, surrounded by loved ones in West Haven, Utah.
She was born on August 12, 1934 in Ogden, Utah to Floyd and Helen Eisenhour. She grew up and attended school in Ogden, Utah.
Dorothy married Robert Don Ekstrom on May 16, 1950 in Yuma, Arizona and they were later sealed in the temple for time and eternity. They were married for 67 years. They had six children. Diana, Marlin, Carleen, Julia, Lewis and Jennifer.
She was known for her one-of-a-kind handmade quilts which she generously gave to family and friends. She received awards for her exceptional flower beds and landscaping. She was a talented calligrapher, and enjoyed creating oil and water color paintings. She served as Primary president, which brought her much joy. She was also known for her excellent cooking, baking and cake decorating.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Don Ekstrom, son, Marlin Don Ekstrom and brother, Dee Eisenhour. She is survived by her brother Larry Eisenhour of Ogden; and her children Diana (Allan) Karras of Roy; Carleen (Norton) Thurgood of Richmond; Julia Hanna of Roy; Lewis (Terril) Ekstrom of West Haven and Jennifer (Troy) Brown of Logan.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Richmond City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Wednesday, February 16th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
