Doris H. Stocks, 95, passed away on May 13, 2025 in Layton, Utah. She was born on January 15, 1930 in Vernal, Utah to Rubin and Ruby Phoenix Hartle. She was a high school graduate.

She married Artie J. Stocks on December 22, 1945. She was the wife of a three war Marine who fought in WWII, Korea, And Vietnam. He was a WWII POW.

Doris has lived in Duchesne, Utah, 29 Palms, California, Yakima, Washington, Oceanside, California and retired to Layton, Utah.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Doris was an avid bowler into her eighties, participating in bowling tournaments as far away as New York and Florida as a member of her women’s bowling association.

She enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, sewing, reading and cooking. She could put together a Thanksgiving Dinner like no other.

Doris is survived by her sons; Lynn (Bertha) Stocks, Tim (Cheryl) Stocks, her daughter Cheryl (Bill) Meehan as well as her sister-in-law Ursula Stocks, her nieces Susan (Kent) Peatross, Marsha (Bruce) Peatross, Holly (Mark) Farnsworth, and nephew Bob Stocks. Also her 26 grandkids and great grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband Artie J. Stocks, sister Leah Mitchell and her husband Loren, sister-in-law Rachel Ames and her husband Don, brother-in-law, Sanford Stocks, first grandson Dr. Chad Stocks, nephews, Mike Stocks, Roger Mitchell, Mark Farnsworth and a great-nephew Landon Peatross.

Graveside services will be held Friday May 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.

Following the graveside services a luncheon will be held at 1977 Park Drive in Syracuse, Utah (a handicap accessible home) with parking available on Park Drive and 2000 West.
