Donna Lee Rampton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, bonus mom, daughter and sister passed away on January 20, 2026, after a heroic fight with ovarian cancer.
Donna was born on June 24, 1961, at Hill Air Force Base in Utah to Joyce Forbes and Donald Dwayne Gunderson. She has one younger brother, Dan. They lived in many places, including Germany, Hawaii, Idaho, Florida and Colorado, but called Utah home after moving there when she was in 9th grade.
She graduated from Clearfield High School in 1979. Donna had a huge heart and a desire to help people, which led to her studying nursing at Utah Technical College. Her career in healthcare would lead to opportunities in wound care, med-surg, oncology and labor and delivery. She also volunteered as a nurse at her children’s elementary school.
While at college in 1983, she met Michael Andrew Brenden, and they married in the Salt Lake Temple. They had three beautiful children, identical twin daughters, Rachel and Sarah, and a son three years later, named Ryan. Due to her husband’s job, the family moved to Albany, Oregon, where they established deep roots. She devoted her time to raising her family and creating a home filled with love, faith and tradition. She was hands-on and enjoyed preparing homemade meals, carpooling her kids, their neighborhood friends and church youth to various activities, and was always ready to make a treat for Friday Family Night. She loved gardening, utilizing nature’s remedies, taking care of animals, including goats, ferrets and her beloved dogs throughout the years, and being self-sufficient in all things.
She and Mike parted ways but remained committed to their children. Donna would later reconnect with her high-school sweetheart, Curtis David Rampton, where their love was rekindled. They were married on January 1, 2009, and subsequently sealed for time and all eternity in the Reno, Nevada temple. She was blessed with adding Curt’s three sons, Jon, Andy, and Tim to the family.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many service and leadership callings, including in presidencies for Primary, Young Women, Relief Society and Stake Primary. She lived a life of unwavering faith, never shied away from sharing her testimony of Jesus Christ and was a valiant disciple of God.
Donna is survived by her husband, Curt; three children and their spouses (Rachel and Justin Rogers, Sarah Brenden and Edgar Vega, and Ryan Brenden); three bonus sons and their spouses (Jon and Harmoni, Andy and Kim, and Tim and Ariadni Rampton); nine grandchildren (Charlie, Kenny, Piper, Oliver, Tyler, Ginny, Lawson, Colter, Ambrose); brother and his spouse (Dan and Cathy Gunderson); and mother-in-law, Marva J Rampton. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Gunderson and her mother, Joyce Gunderson.
