Donna Kay Beckman Call

September 18, 1934 — March 11, 2023

Donna Kay Beckman Call, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away in the morning hours of Saturday March 11th. Donna was born on September 18, 1934 in Ogden to Clifford Eugene and Vada Leone Lawrence Beckman.

 

She married the love of her life, US Navy Korean War Veteran, Robert Anson Call on August 1953 in Ogden, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Donna and Robert raised three children together, David, Brett, and Shanna.

 

In addition to being a wonderful homemaker and devoted wife and mother, Donna worked at Prudential Ins. for 5 years and then at Key Bank for 40 years as an Administrative Assistant. After her retirement she volunteered at McKay-Dee Hospital for 12 years.  

 

A life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Donna served as a Relief Society President and also loved her time serving in the Young Women's organization. They also served together as the LDS coordinating couple at Manor Care and later at Pineview Rehab Center. In addition they served as missionaries for five years at the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake.  

 

Donna’s hobbies included baking, gardening, serving others, being a devoted Jazz fan and most of all, spending time with her family. She enjoyed vacations to Bear Lake and several cruises, all with her family. They also enjoyed traveling with her sister Sharon and Dennis Tomlinson, her cousin Deana and Gary Smith. Mom was always putting others first in all that she did.  She was, humble, compassionate, one of the most Christ-like women and had an unwavering testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ.    

 

Donna is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert A. Call, Ogden; children, David R. (Julie) Call; Brett E. Call; and Shanna C. (Brett) Moyes, all of the Ogden area; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, and one on the way; Donna is also survived by her sister, Sharon Tomlinson, South Ogden. Donna was preceded in death by her parents.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley 7th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5735 Crestwood Drive, Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 10  to 10:50 a.m. at the Church. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden.
