Dolores Elizabeth Thinnes Olsen

March 25, 1927 ~ December 13, 2016

Dolores Elizabeth Thinnes Olsen, our sweet mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother has found peace.

She was the loving daughter of Zeno Iranius Thinnes and Edith Laverne Davidson.  She was a sister to Cecelia (Bud) Wardle (deceased) and Maurice (Margaret) Thinnes.

She married William Gail Olsen on September 17, 1947, together they raised a family.  He left her too soon and he has been waiting 41 years for her to join him.  Her children are: Renee (Darrell) Dixon, Rolayne (Jeffrey) Van Buskirk, Marcia (Ken) Evans, Greg Olsen, Leslie (Craig) Bingham, Charles Olsen, Julie (Michael) Schoonmaker, Douglas Olsen (deceased), and John (Evelyn) Olsen.

She was proud of her job at the Defense Depot as Paymaster and Secretary to the base manager.  She was preceded in death by longtime companion Eppie Roybal.

She had a strong faith in the Catholic Church and later found great joy in becoming a Secular Carmelite.

She loved her 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, her farm, garden, and pets.  She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking and sweet kisses.

She enjoyed her flowers when she was living so please offer prayers or a donation in her name to the charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 495 N. Harrison, Ogden.  Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.  Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
