Diane Nalder Call

October 18, 1947 — December 9, 2025

Listen to Obituary

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Diane Nalder Call, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on December 9th, 2025. She was born on October 18th, 1947, in Ogden, Utah, to Norris W. Nalder and Lois LaPrele Rich.

Diane grew up in Weber and Davis Counties and attended Grandview Elementary School, Kaysville Junior High School, and Davis High School, where she was a member of the Pro Schola dance team and loved her high school years. Davis High School was also where Diane met her sweetheart, Douglas Call. She later attended Weber State College. As a young girl, she loved walking to the Kaysville Pond to ice skate and enjoyed riding horses. Because her mother did not drive, Diane, as the oldest, took on the role of driving her younger brothers wherever they needed to go and always included them.

Diane and Douglas were high school sweethearts and were married on August 19, 1966, and were later sealed on May 10, 1967, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Throughout her life, Diane was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings, including Cub Scouts, Primary, Relief Society, and Young Women presidencies, and her favorite was working with the youth. She was known as a dedicated daily list maker, enjoyed a cold Diet Coke, and loved cooking and bringing her family together for celebrations.

Family meant everything to Diane. She loved supporting her children and grandchildren in all of their activities and never missed ANYTHING, always showing up to games, performances, and special events. Grandma and Grandpa always made birthdays special by calling each of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren on their birthdays to sing to them, and she made holidays and birthdays special for those she loved. Her house was always spotless and smelled wonderful, she often had a candle burning, and she was also an amazing cook. Her family could always count on her for a delicious homemade meal. She was extremely generous with Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, and gift giving. She cherished traditions and loved hosting the annual Halloween party. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

Our mom and grandma was a great example to everyone of selfless service and Christ-like love. She always went out of her way to make others feel welcomed and loved. We are grateful for her unconditional love, support, and the cherished memories we have of her.

Diane is survived by her loving husband, Douglas H. Call; her children Michael Call (Nicole), Jeffery Call (Karrie), Matthew Call (Jennifer), and Jennifer Nordquist (Brandon); her grandchildren Jordan (Aubrey), Abby (Hailee), Caden (McKahl), Carson (Megan), Tage (Hannah), Brennick, Ashley, Tanner, Carter, Hudson, Emmerson, and Londyn; her great- grandchildren Ava, Anistyn, Jonas, Drew, Jax, Cove, and Wyatt, with two more great- grandchildren on the way; and her brother, Norris R. Nalder (Nancie). She was preceded in death by her parents, Norris W. Nalder and Lois LaPrele Rich; her brother, Douglas Rich Nalder; and her granddaughter, Meghan Mae Call.
