Derrell Dee Christiansen

Derrell was born July 28, 1929 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Harold Julius and Hazel Jackman Christiansen. He was born, raised and educated in Spanish Fork. He was called "Chris" by many who knew him.

On February 26, 1949, Derrell married Leatha May Stickney at her parent''s home in Mona, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on October 13, 1950. The family lived in Spanish Fork, Salam and Sunset, Utah.

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather bid farewell to his family and friends on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield, Utah, after a long illness.

Derrell worked hard all of his life to provide for his family. His family never wanted for anything. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, Glen Peterson in Salem, Utah, Geneva Steel, and Defense Depot Ogden, before his retirement. He also worked at Clearfield Auto Salvage and Sunset City as a Volunteer Fireman until 2007.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in the Primary, Boy Scouts as a leader and a Scout master, home teacher, and Counselor in the Sunday School.

Derrell leaves behind his wife, of 62 years, two sons, Derrell Ray (Tanya) Christiansen, Arvil Julius "A.J." (Delene) Christiansen, five daughters, Lettee Marie (Allen) Ferrin, Connie May (Steven, deceased) Wade, Becky Jo (Grant) Dangerfield, Lesly Dawn (Craig) Rollins, Glenda Linn (Bert) Hansen, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two brothers, Vernon Dwayne (Elaine) Christiansen, and Terry Julius (Rayanna) Christiansen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three grandchildren, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law and a son-in-law.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 15th at 11 a.m. at the Clinton City Cemetery, 800 North 750 West.

The family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
