Listen to Obituary

Our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, and brother, Denton Robert Aschliman, passed away on May 6, 2026, following a courageous battle with dementia. He is now resting peacefully in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father.

Denton was born in Idaho Falls on December 11, 1951, to Robert Lee Aschliman and Nadine Brown Aschliman. An "Idaho boy" through and through, he spent his youth playing sports, fishing, camping, water skiing, and hunting. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southern California before meeting the love of his life, Patsy Robinson, in Ogden, Utah, in 1974. They were married in 1975.

After starting their family in Idaho Falls, Denton and Patsy eventually returned to Utah, settling in Roy, where they lived for forty-two years and raised their three children. Denton was a dedicated and consistent provider, working as a semi-truck driver for Thiokol, Morton Thiokol, and Autoliv for over 30 years.

While Denton often presented a tough exterior, he possessed a deeply caring heart. He spent his life in service to his family and his community, always willing to lend a helping hand. He was especially passionate about his years serving as a leader in the Scouting program. He loved everything about it, from the camping trips to the opportunity to help young people learn lifelong skills. He took great pride in teaching his own children the value of hard work and the importance of punctuality, firmly believing that if you weren’t ten minutes early, you were already late.

Nothing brought him more joy than watching his children grow into the kind, hardworking people they are today. He cherished his role as a grandfather, staying deeply involved in the lives of his nine grandkids. A fan of Ford trucks and the outdoors, Denton loved riding his bicycle with his biking group and cheering on football and basketball games with his sons. He was also a devoted companion to the family dogs, Brandy and Tia. As an active member of his ward, he served in many positions and truly loved the fellowship of his church community.

Denton is survived by his wife, Patsy; his children, Christy (Richard), Rob (Heidi), and Ryan (Amy); his nine grandchildren; and his brothers, Bruce, Brian, and Miles. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Aschliman; his mother, Nadine Brown Aschliman; and his infant sister, Kay.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S., Roy, Utah. Friends and family may visit on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Heritage Park Care Center, Bristol Hospice, and the many doctors, nurses, friends, and family members, who provided care and companionship to Denton.
