Dennis Paul Rusch

July 2, 1946 — March 1, 2024

Dennis Paul Rusch, 77, a long-time Ogden resident, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home on March 1, 2024, with his sister by his side. He was born in Ogden to Lawrence Theodore and Helen Kathryn Burks Rusch. After graduating from Ogden High School, Class of 1964, Dennis enlisted as an Artilleryman in the United States Army, serving with distinction from December of 1967 until his honorable discharge in November of 1970. Dennis recalled his time in Germany with the Army as impactful in his life.

 

Following this he worked Civil Service at IRS, later at Hill Air Force Base, and finally at the Defense Depot Ogden. Dennis worked in Civil Service for 30 years before retiring. He also worked part-time for many years at a local gas station.

 

He was raised Lutheran. Dennis married Raelyn Jones, and they had three children together. They later divorced.

 

Dennis loved making models, reading books, and listening to music especially Classical, Jazz, and Creedence Clearwater. He was a fan of James Bond. Dennis was a diehard auto-racing enthusiast, and a huge fan of baseball. Dennis was fascinated by outer space and the exploration of it. He was quiet and humble and cared deeply for his family, especially his children. He had a believing heart and struggled with loss during his life. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

 

Dennis is survived by his children, daughters, Shannon Leigh Rusch, Ogden, and Lindsay Danielle Rusch, Ogden; by his son, CPT Daniel Sexton Clark Rusch, US Army (RET), Syracuse; by two grandchildren; brother, David Rusch, and sister, Linda Rusch. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

 

Per his wishes, private family services will be held following cremation in care of Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
