WEST HAVEN-Dennis Lee Dallinga, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at his residence. Born on January 1, 1943, he was the son of John “Jack” Richard and Wanda Louise Dallinga. Dennis was raised in Washington Terrace and graduated with distinction from the inaugural class of Bonneville High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Weber State College and subsequently obtained a Juris Doctorate’s degree from the University of San Fernando Valley College of Law. Pursuing his passion for numbers, he chose banking as his profession and served as Vice President in the Commercial Loan Department at First Security Bank, now known as Wells Fargo.
Dennis served an LDS Mission to the Netherlands and remained a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life. He held the office of High Priest and contributed faithfully in numerous ward callings.
Following his return from his mission, he married Mary Ann Halliday on April 6, 1966, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with five children. Mary Ann passed away from leukemia on December 27, 1994.
In 1996, Dennis met Donna Rae Peek; they married in the Ogden Temple on February 21, 1997. Donna was his longtime caregiver and loving wife and resided in West Haven for many years.
Dennis honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserves, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel after 30 years of service. Dennis was also dedicated to his community, serving on the Hooper Water Board for several years. He enjoyed playing golf at Round Valley with family and friends and was a long-time fan of baseball, holding season tickets to the Ogden Raptors.
Dennis is survived by his dear wife, Donna Dallinga; his children, Michael (Natalie) Dallinga, Rozalyn (Robert) Anderson, Richard (Missy) Dallinga, Susan (Brandon) Marse, and Kristen (Craig) Aldous; Donna’s children, Shauna Sneden, Jenette (Chris) Poll, Stephanie (Chris) Pech, Gina (Ricky) Yorgason, Jason (Mary) Millspaw, and Richard Millspaw; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he cherished; and his sisters, Linda Thorsted and Robin McLellen. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Dallinga; parents, John and Wanda Dallinga; and brother, Bruce Dallinga.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Pheasant Meadows Ward, 4775 South 4875 West, West Haven. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
