DeEtta Child Brown

DeEtta Child Brown, 85, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026. She was born August 4, 1940, to John Child and Louise DeWitt Child.

DeEtta spent most of her childhood in Clinton. She married Gary Hansen in the temple in 1958, and together they had three children: Pam, Craig, and Ted. In 1988, she married Ben Brown, and together they adopted two children: Kaprece and Kamik. They were later sealed in the temple.

DeEtta worked at Hill Air Force Base from 1968 to 1990, retiring as a Logistics Management Supervisor.

She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in Young Women, Relief Society, and Primary. She was known for her warm personality, her love of conversation, and her unforgettable laugh.

DeEtta cherished her time at Lotus Park, where she enjoyed bingo, lunches with friends, and daily walks. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always keeping treats ready for their visits.

She is survived by her children Craig (Christine) Hansen, Kevin Brown, Kamik Brown, and Kaprece Brown; daughter-in-law Lynette Hansen; brother Jim Child; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Lotus park and hospice for the care they gave DeEtta. and to her good friends she made, that brought her joy in her last years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ben Brown; her parents; 12 siblings; and her children Pam and Ted.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Clearfield City Cemetery, 1050 State St, Clearfield, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Thursday, April 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, Roy, Utah. A family viewing will take place Friday, April 10 from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. followed by graveside services at 11 a.m.
