Debra Jensen-Sparks, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, wife, and believer in life’s magic and mystery, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, at the age of 73.
Born on July 29, 1951, to Alan and Marybell Jensen, Debra lived a life full of heart, imagination, and deep affection for the people and passions that brought her joy. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael W. Sparks; her parents; and her granddaughter, Sarah.
She is survived by her children, Weston Kimber (Kristin) and Heather Olson (Jared); and her grandchildren: Grace, Samantha, Isaac, Jacob, Jared, Ammon, John, and Morgyn. Each of whom she loved dearly and proudly. She is also survived by her three brothers: Scott, Darell, and Wes Jensen.
Her love for her dogs ran just as deep. Her loyal companions were constant sources of comfort, companionship, and laughter. She never turned away from a good mystery, whether it was on the page or the screen, always eager to solve the case before the final reveal.
Her curiosity and sense of wonder extended far beyond fiction. Debra believed in the unknown with a wink and a smile. She was certain that aliens exist and Bigfoot just hasn’t been caught yet. Her imagination, humor, and open-mindedness were as much a part of her as her kindness and wisdom.
