Dawn Maree Webb

August 23, 1957 — January 10, 2025

Dawn Maree Webb Passed away January 10, 2025, at her home in Washington, Utah surrounded by her husband and children.

Dawn Maree was born to Don and LaRae McEntire at The Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, August 23, 1957. She was the third of the five McEntire children.

At the age of 2 Dawn decided to be called Dodie.

Dodie grew up in Roy, Utah and graduated from Roy high, class of 1975. During her education, she was a part of the band, playing the flute and dancing for the Royalaires.

She learned her love of flowers, birds and sunsets from her Daddy and learned dedication for service, compassion and gained her fighting spirit from her Momma.

After High school Dodie Attended SUU in Cedar City.

In 1979 Dodie married Russell Zaugg and together raised three children. Dodie was willing, and sometimes did, go to the “ends of the earth” for her kids and grandkids. Dodie was a dedicated mom, aunt and sister and was much loved by her extended family.

She graduated with her bachelor’s in education from Weber State University in 1990. She began a career she loved, teaching elementary school children. Later in life Dodie studied and received her master’s degree in education from Grand Canyon University. She retired after 30 years in 2020.

Dodie married the love of her life, Blake Webb, in 2012. They were sealed in the Bountiful LDS Temple on Dec 12, 2015. Dodie extended her huge heart to her step kids, Brandon, Mitch and Chandler. Dodie and Blake filled their life with adventures including travel, concerts, soccer games and precious time together. Anywhere they were together they called home.

Dodie loved playing, watching and coaching soccer. She played recreationally for 30 years. As an avid fan, she dragged Blake into the fan club with her season tickets to Real Salt Lake. She joined his passion for cycling and enjoyed many rides and cycling adventures incentivized by the promise of a cold Coke at the finish.

Dodie was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was unwavering during the many hardships of life. She selflessly fulfilled many callings which allowed her to connect with so many people she held dear.

Dodie’s greatest joy in life was the sound of the pitter pat of the feet of her grandchildren as they played. Nothing made “Nana” happier than being surrounded by her grandkids.

Dodie is survived by: Husband: Blake James Webb, Children: Danielle Zaugg, Riley Zaugg, Preston Zaugg (Redding, Vienna), Brandon (Brittany) Webb, (Bastian, Callum), Mitchel (Breynn) Webb (Capri, Gray, Nora) Siblings: James Guy McEntire, Gwen McEntire, Kellie (Kerry) Cooke and Patti Stanger.
