David Benjamin Zorko was born in Bountiful, Utah, to Rudolph aka Rudy Zorko and Teri Evert Zorko, on March 22, 1985, their first born and only son. He grew up in Syracuse and Kaysville, Utah. After graduation Dave worked for Aire Tech, Inc, Build Tech, Inc., and Zorko Property Management.

Dave was the hardest working person you would ever meet. Throughout his career he thrived to learn any and everything he could regarding painting, blasting, heating and air conditioning, all aspects of residential construction and maintenance. Davewas a true artisan in ceramic tile and hardwood floor installation, interior and exterior painting, finished carpentry.

Dave also was employed for 4 years at Hill AFB, in sandblasting and painting aircraft parts as a Lead Painter. Hill AFB is where he met his wife, Ashley Elisabeth Meyer. In 2019 Dave married Ashley in Farr West, Utah, and a year later they had a formal Christmas Wedding in Layton, Utah during Covid, with masks and all. In 2023 Dave resigned from Hill to finish building theirdream house in Pleasant View, Utah. Dave could do it all and nearly did on their house stating, “I’m roofing my own damnhouse” and he did all on his own.

Dave was smart, caring, and honest, and would drop everything to help his friends and family with anything they needed with no questions asked. On the outside Dave seemed serious or “all business”, but on the inside Dave had the biggest loving heart.

Dave had a love of adventure. Backpacking was his favorite thing to do; his happy place was in the mountains. He went on several trips with his good friends when he was younger. Eventually taking Ashley and his loved dog Buzz on several trips with his friends too. Dave enjoyed hiking, fishing, 4-wheeling, snowboarding, campfires and gardening. Dave loved to play cards, go to concerts, BBQ ‘s and hang out with his close group of friends which he called his second family. He loved them dearly. Dave had just finished his landscaping and yard and was ready to plant grape vines and keep on with gardening, freezing, and canning fresh produce at his house.

Dave passed away on Saturday February 28, 2026. Dave will be dearly missed by anyone who knew him.

Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dean Richard Evert (2025), Leda Rey Renner Evert (2018), Rudolph Zorko Jr (2013), and Helen Marie Toth Zorko (2012).
