It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Silos Aguirre, a deeply loved son, husband, father, friend, community leader, and cultural advocate. He departed this life peacefully on September 28, 2025 at the age of 43.
David was born in Torreón, Mexico, and later immigrated to the United States with his family, settling in Logan, Utah. From an early age, he demonstrated a passion for service, culture, and bringing people together.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and served for many years at Intermountain Health as an Analyst in the department of retirement.
David also held the role of CEO at Expo Bodas y Quinceñeras Magazine, where he championed Hispanic culture, traditions, and celebrations in the community.
But perhaps his greatest legacy lies in his work founding Ballet Folklórico ECK Juvenil, a nonprofit dedicated to educating youth about Mexican cultural heritage through dance.
Through this organization, David empowered young people to be proud of their roots, perform in community events, and connect deeply with their identity. He strove to raise funds to support costumes made in Mexico and collaborated with the Mexican consulate and local institutions to promote cultural exchange.
David’s kindness, vision, and boundless energy endeared him to all who knew him. As he said himself, “as long as my heart continues beating, within it will be my family, profession, Ballet ECK Folklórico Juvenil, and my desire to continue supporting the community.”
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sayla Silos, and their children: Kallileia (Garrett), Isaias, Amilia, and Adalia. His parents Roberto, Juana. Siblings Fernando (Laura), Sara, Lorenzo.
He also leaves behind extended family, countless dancers, colleagues, and community members whose lives were touched by his love, mentorship, and cultural leadership.
Viewing Services will take place on October 3, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 North 400 East, Bountiful, UT, 84010.
