David “Dave” Grant Pickup, 69, of Plain City, Utah, passed away on November 30, 2025. Born on November 3, 1956, Dave grew up in Tulelake, California. He and his wife raised their family in Clinton, Utah, before recently making their home in Plain City.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dave served a full-time mission in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission and continued to serve faithfully in various leadership and church callings throughout his life. His faith guided the way he lived, served, and cared for others.
Dave attended Ricks College in Idaho, where he met his wife, Jill. They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 19, 1978, beginning a devoted partnership that will last for the eternities. He went on to earn his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon.
A retired chiropractor, Dave was the proud owner of Pickup Chiropractic. He dedicated his life to helping others through his work and was known for the care, concern and integrity he offered every patient. He was a people person and developed many close, lasting relationships with those he treated.
Dave enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, taking long country drives - really anything that involved spending time in quiet outdoor spaces, where he felt most at peace. He also found joy in collecting coins, guns, knives, and Native American artifacts. Dave was passionate about family history and genealogy, woodworking, and cooking. He was happiest surrounded by family and took great joy in doting on his grandkids.
One can’t think of Dave without noting one of his most endearing qualities - his wonderful sense of humor. He always had the ability to bring the right amount of levity to any situation. He will be remembered for his steady presence and the deep love he held for his family.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Jill; and their children, Jason (Courtney) of Tennessee, Janalyn (Rob) of Texas, Ryan (Melanie) of Utah, Tyler (Candice) of Utah, Chase of Utah, and Jordan (Anne) of Utah. He is also survived by 17 cherished grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brooklyn; his grandson, Cade; parents, George and Louise Pickup; and his sister, Susan.
Dave’s wishes will be honored with a private graveside service attended by close family, followed by a luncheon provided by the Plain City 8th Ward members.
The family would like to express gratitude and appreciation for the outpouring of love and care received during this time.
