David Carl Green

September 9, 1944 — May 29, 2025

David Carl Green, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on May 29, 2025, surrounded by many of his loving family.

He was born September 9, 1944, in Ogden, to Afton E. and Carl W. Green. He was raised as one of the old terrace boys in Washington Terrace and had many mischievous experiences growing up there during the 50s.

Dave was very active in scouting, always served his priesthood duties, and even helped build the LDS Washington Terrace 3rd Ward Chapel where he attended growing up.

He attended Bonneville High School graduating in 1962 as the 2nd graduating class at Bonneville. He also graduated from LDS Seminary and sang in the school choir. He attended many high school football games and usually participated in the inter-rivalry ‘rumbles’ afterwords.

Dave married Linda Read in 1962. He and Linda had two children, Shaunna and Craig. Dave later married Pam Gemar in 1975. He and Pam had one son, Jared. He was also a loving father to Pam’s two children, Sheri and Staci. Dave’s bond with his children and his extended families, which are many, remained very strong throughout the years.

He attended Weber State College and retired from Hill Air Force Base with nearly 50 years of service working originally as a computer operator and finally as a Database Administrator where he made many lifelong friends.

Dave always enjoyed all outdoor activities including boating, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, hiking, and working on his beautiful cabin at Legacy Ranch, Monte Cristo where he made many more lifelong friends and spent many years working on it.

He was very loved and cared for by many. He valued his family and extended families without bounds and always stepped in to help any of them if and when they needed it. He was a very compassionate and loving man, and a bit stubborn. He will always be sorely missed.

Dave is survived by his son, Jared (Krystal) Green and daughter, Kenna of Tooele; daughter, Shaunna (Kevin) Casey and children of Athens, GA; son, Craig (Morning) Vail and children of Athens, GA; Sheri Gemar Larson of Ogden; and Staci (Troy) King and children of Layton; his only brother, Bill (Diane) Green of Liberty; adoring nieces, Nicole (Jerome) Curran, Danielle (Corey) Chugg, and Noelle (Dustin) Stephenson; and eight grandchildren. Dave was also adopted father to Stephanie Smith and Ryan Jones and adopted grandfather to many. He was preceded in death by his parents; and beloved nephew, Matthew Green.

A special thanks to great friends, Gary and Jeanie Thackaray of Clinton for their years of love and unwavering support for Dave.
