Darrel R. “Hank” Wayment
1938 ~ 2022
Darrel R. “Hank” Wayment, age 84, said, “I Love You,” and waved goodbye to his love and sweetheart of 65 years, just hours prior to his peaceful passing from this mortal existence.
Darrel has been called home and is reunited with loved ones who preceded him in death including his daughter, Debbie Wayment Higley; granddaughters, Penny and Jenny Higley; sisters, Mae and Lois; brothers, Rollo, Grant and Eldon Wayment.
Darrel met and fell in love with Lyndsay Deem. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple February 8, 1957, and went on to have five children, Kevin (Lori), Debbie (Randy), Vickie (Steve), Scott (Sylvia), and Daniel (Jennifer); along with 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Darrel served in the Air Force and later built his carrier in the plumbing supply and sales business. He concluded his career as a partner at Great Western Plumbing Supply, where he was revered and respected by customers and associates building long-lasting friendships along the way.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served faithfully in many callings and assignments.
Darrel and Lyndsay loved to travel including camping, cruising, etc. Darrel also enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATVs, softball, basketball, and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Monte Vista Ward, 3845 South 2000 West, Roy. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
