Darlene Mae Rackham, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 2, 2023. She was born on September 17, 1941 in Nampa, Idaho, the daughter of Menno Ralph and Zelda Palmer Penner. The family moved to Ogden, Utah when Darlene was nine years old. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School, where she met her husband, LeRoy Clyde Rackham. They were married in the Logan Temple.
She worked as a teller for many years and remained close friends with her co-workers and would meet up at Christmas and other times during the year.
Darlene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings, but her favorite was leading the music.
She loved spending time with her family, especially on vacations to Disneyland. Roy and Darlene’s celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at Disneyland with all of their children and grandchildren.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Roy of Farr West; children, Mark (Maryann) Rackham of North Ogden, Brian (Angie) Rackham of Harrisville, Lonnie (Tamra) Rackham, Farr West and Angie (Adam) Burden of South Ogden; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Gary Penner of Washington. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel Rackham; parents, Menno and Zelda and sister, Shirley George.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
