Darlene Ann Cologna passed away at home on April 13, 2026. She is survived by her husband, Dan Cologna; daughter, Elaine Sutherland (Sharman); brothers, Mike Davis (Debbie) and David Davis, Joanie Davis; and grandchildren, Adam Sutherland (Amanda), Rachael Sutherland and Mathew and Andrew Clark. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tania Clark; parents, John and June Davis; and brother, John Davis (Barbara).
She was born in Rome, NY on July 13, 1946, where she grew up ice skating, swimming and eating Nitsie’s hot dogs. In 1973, she made her home in Ogden, Utah where she taught kindergarten and second grade and later retired as Information Systems Manager for Ogden City.
On March 16, 1985, she married Dan Cologna. Together, they found joy in raising and running dogs, vacationing in Lake Tahoe and telling a hilarious story.
Her greatest passion was dog agility, where she earned numerous MACH titles. She also fiercely loved her four grandchildren, reading a good book, and chocolate.
A heartwarming thank you to Andrea at Community Nursing Services and all of their fantastic staff. You smoothed the journey and we are incredibly grateful. We send much appreciation to Briana, an early caregiver, and to Alison from Happy to Help for her tender and loving care of Darlene.
We will miss her wit, her stories and most especially her smile.
