Darian Jafar Shamsa

Darian Jafar Shamsa, age 22, of Layton, Utah, passed away January 11, 2026.

Darian is survived by his loving parents, Farzin and Michelle Shamsa; his sister Tala; his brothers; Sheyenne and Kion; and the love of his life, Diana Castro.

Darian graduated from NUAMES High School in 2021, simultaneously earning an Associate of Science degree through Weber State University. He was pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing at Weber State at the time of his passing.

Darian was an exceptional son, brother, boyfriend, and friend. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke and tease – no one was ever exempt from his humor. He loved his cars and his cats, and he was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. At the center of his life was Diana, whom he loved deeply. Darian was known for his warm, heartfelt hugs and the comfort he gave freely. He also had remarkable common sense and maintained a positive attitude through life’s challenges.

A true go getter, Darian knew what he wanted and pursued it with passion. He served as a Captain on the Weber State University E-Sports team. He was also a boy scout and a karate board-braking champion. His interests included computers, four-wheeling, motorcycling, e-sports, and discovering great food as a true foodie.

Funeral services for Darian will be held Saturday January 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the mortuary.

Darian will be remembered for his humor, kindness, loyalty, and the deep love he shared with those closest to him. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and a heart that touched many.
