Listen to Obituary

Daniel Gallegos was born in Denver, Colorado and moved with his family to Utah when he was a child where he chose to make home.

Daniel met and married his wife and best friend, Patricia E. Chavez, in Ogden Utah, where they were married on June 27, 1963. He was devoted to and loved spending time with his family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was quiet, kind, very loving and he helped anyone he saw who was in need.

Daniel’s truck was his baby, and he put on all the bells and whistles. He enjoyed taking long drives with his wife listening to Roy Orbison, Lou Rawls, Freddy Fender and old country. He could build and fix anything and completed building and repaired the homes where he lived with his family.

Daniel enjoyed watching the Catholic channel EWTN where he learned more about his faith. He also enjoyed watching car restoration shows on TV. He could look at any car on TV or while driving and tell you what make, model, and year it was, especially on old cars.

Daniel’s favorite place was in the Utah mountains. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons and camping with his family. His enjoyed the family Spanish and Italian recipes that his wife cooked. He also enjoyed studying Kajukenbo martial arts with his sons.

Daniel’s Catholic faith was very important to him, and he enjoyed volunteering at his Parrish and other Catholic organizations. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Geneva Mora Gallegos, four siblings, and grandson, David Standley.

Daniel is survived by his wife Patricia Gallegos, his three children Daniel Gallegos AZ, DeAnn Gallegos UT, Khalid Gallegos UT, his grandchildren Amanda Haws (Dan) UT, Corbin Standley MI, Quade Standley (Clarissa)UT, great grandchildren Isabel Gallegos UT, Merrick Standley UT, Natalie Standley UT, and his sister Joann (Joe) Martinez UT.

We want to give special thanks to Ilena and all the staff at McKay Dee Oncology, the staff at Dr. Morgan’s office at McKay Dee Hospital who all treated Daniel as family. We also want to thank the emergency services of South Weber who were true heroes, getting Daniel to the hospital.
