Daniel Paul Barlow

March 22, 1960 — July 29, 2023

Daniel Paul Barlow passed away unexpectedly July 29, 2023 at the age of 63.  Paul Taylor Barlow and Maureen Peterson Barlow welcomed Dan into the world their first born son March 22, 1960.  He has six siblings, Cindy (Mario) Garcia, Tony Barlow, Corry Barlow, Paula Feit, Rod Barlow, and Tyson Barlow. He has a special bond with each of them.

He was raised in Bountiful, Utah, Colorado and settled in Layton, Utah.  Dan graduated from Layton Hugh School; class of ’78.  Dan was very popular and athletic. He excelled in all sports, but baseball was his favorite.  He was an Eagle Scout and used those skills throughout his life.

Dan and a few cousins enjoyed having a good time, often resulting into trouble.  Dan enjoyed playing basketball with his dad and brothers throughout his life.

Dan married his high school sweetheart Gay Adams on July 3, 1979.  They created a beautiful family of five children; Anber (Dustin) Patterson, Brittany (Steve) Vernon, Blake (Hayley) Barlow, Chaise (Brandi) Barlow, Royce (Hayley) Barlow and bonus child Aspiree.  They were raised in Layton, Utah and California.  They were sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on March 26, 1988.  Dan and Gay later divorced. Dan married Gina Cannon, with her three children; Leah, AJ and Caleb.  The raised a blended family together in Utah and Arkansas.  They later divorced.  Through this union Dan met some of his life long friends, Julie, Tammy & Mike, and Pearl.  Dan enjoyed being the life of the party and you could hear Dan’s loud voice and jokes anywhere he was in a crowd.

Dan owned his own Brick Works Masonry business after learning the trade from his father, then passed those skills off to his sons, he took great pride and mastered his craft.  Dan also worked in the oil fields for Schlumberger and again passed that trade to his sons. Dan had a special spot for his daughters, often daddy daughter dates.  Attending concerts with his kids.  He was proud to share the story that he delivered his daughter in his big blue truck. Dan love classic rock, always with the best sound system and could be heard driving home from a mile away, letting the kids know chores better be done when he got home.

Dan was a man of many talents! Artist, Musician, and a great singer, Mechanic, Video Games, cornhole, Golfer, Hunter (Bow-Rifle-Muzzleloader), Fisherman (he is still known to this day as the guy that bit a fish head off from a bet that was made).
