Dan Nels Thompson, 70, of Ogden, passed away peacefully at Terrace at Mt. Ogden of natural causes on November 8, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Ogden to Wilford George and Lula May Bowen Thompson, Dan was raised and schooled in Ogden UT.
In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, yard work, working on cars and spending time with his family and friends.
On March 8, 1973, Dan married Cheryl Diane Robinson in Ogden. They were later divorced.
Dan will be remembered for his need to help others, speaking his mind and you knew it if he didn’t like something he would tell you, but at the same time could make you smile and laugh with his comments and jokes. Most of all he will be remembered for being out adventuring all over Ogden on his wheelchair.
Dan is survived by his son, Dan W. (ReNae) Thomspon, Ogden, Wes A. (Brooke) Thompson, Taylor, and Kim Vern Orullian; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and by his siblings, Dean (Linda) Thompson, Layton; Cathy Atkinson, Ogden; and Joyce Teeter, also of Ogden.
Dan was preceded in death by his son, Travis I. Thompson, two great-grandchildren, Caysin Vine and Isla Smithey; and his parents, Wilford and Lule
The family wishes to thank the staff of Terrace at Mt. Ogden for their kind and professional care of Dan, especially Kelly Dan’s aid who made the most of the last couple months of his life.
