Dale Bingham Hancock

On January 14, 2012, Dale Bingham Hancock stood on his feet for the first time in over 25 years and walked into the open arms of our Heavenly Father.

Dale was born on October 26, 1938 in Ogden to Gilbert Theodore and Hattie Viola Bingham Hancock. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School and attended Weber State College where he studied and completed a two-year program in automotive engineer; he then went to work for UDOT where he retired after forty-two and a half years of faithful service.

On August 1, 1968 he married his best friend Colleen Jane Richins for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple. Dale was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as a High Priest in the Lorin Farr 3rd Ward.

Dale loved working on cars, often you could find him helping family and friends with their vehicles. Dale had a true ear for how machines should have ran and sound and could tell you just from listening to it what was wrong. Another one of his favorite past times was water skiing, having a vehicle and a boat made this hobby one of his most favorites and he quickly shared it with others. Dale was a man who loved life and no matter how many obstacles or illnesses were put in his path he never complained and always took it in stride.

Dale is survived by his wife, Colleen; five sons, Kirk, Kevin (Danielle), Michael (Christy), Kyle (Gina), and Craig (Dana); brother, Larry (Rene''); sister, Linda O''Neill; eighteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Viola Hancock; his father-in-law, Wayne Joseph Richins; and twin brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family would like to thank Vista Care Hospice for the loving care that they gave Dale for the last two years, especially Cynthia Richins, Bridgette Seese and Necha. We would like also to send our most sincere thanks and appreciation to Brenda Bingham for loving care and devotion to Dale''s health for the last five years.
