Dale Baker Anderson

September 9, 1926 ~ May 28, 2016

Dale was born on September 9, 1926 in Teton, Idaho to Edward Rollo and Maude Baker Anderson. Dale passed away peacefully on May 28, 2016 reuniting with his wife, Fern; parents; brother, Ward; sister, Ella; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

Dale proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and in the Air Force during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Fern Ogden, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on September 3, 1948. While providing for a growing family, Dale obtained an Associate Degree from Weber State College and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah.

He was a true handyman and could fix or build most anything he set his mind to. He worked as an electrical engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration. He also served as a volunteer fireman for Sunset City.

Dale enjoyed the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman, and won many trophies in handgun competitions.

He served in many callings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but his favorite calling was that of Scoutmaster. He earned an Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver in 30 years of Scouting.

Family was always his priority. He loved his children, taught them righteous principles and provided an example they could follow.

Dale is survived by his six children, Shirley (Alan) Story, Steven (Debbie) Anderson, Elaine (Mike) Moulton, Darrell (Debbie) Anderson, Vickie Baer, and Don Anderson; 32 grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary and on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Chancellor Gardens Assisted Living and Comfort Worx Hospice for their care of our father and family patriarch.
