Crystal Anne Raat

On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, Crystal Anne Raat, wife and mother of four passed away at age 51.

Crystal was born December 17, 1971, in Marysville, California to Kirk and Rosanne Hazen. She graduated from Weber State University. She worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in several states. Most recently at North Kansas City Hospital in Missouri. 

She married John Paul Raat on March 23 1992, sealed for eternity in the Boise Temple in October of 1994. They have four children together, daughter, Rachel Anne Ashford, married to Jacob; sons, John Farrell Raat, married to Laura; Joseph Paul Raat; and Aaron Moroni Raat.

Crystal was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived her life dedicated to her family, career, and her Savior. She spent her life serving, by giving her love and time to all those she knew. She was able to help and touch so many lives that words can't describe. When she wasn't serving others, she could be found reading or listening to her favorite books. She loved playing games of all types with her family and friends. Crystal never met a stranger; she loved life and everyone around her. She often said serving others rather it be in a calling she was given from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, work or at home made life worth living. Her energetic and outgoing personality will be missed.

Crystal was preceded in death by her father, Kirk; mother, Rosanne and sister, Bethany. She is survived by her husband, John; her four children, Rachel, John, Joseph and Aaron; and her two grandchildren, Emma and Elijah. Also survived by siblings, Angella (husband Bruce), Jeremy (wife Tammy), Amy (husband Chris), Mary (husband David), Ian (wife Rose), Anissa (husband Lonny); and many nieces and nephews. Also two of her closest friends, Rosey and Steve.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
