Connie Weaver Gaston

November 1, 1934 — July 18, 2023

 

Connie Weaver Gaston, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully with Warren by her side on Tuesday July 18, 2023.  She was 88 years old.

 

She was born on November 1, 1934 in Pocatello, Idaho to Jesse Owen and Dora Jane Fullmer Weaver.

 

Connie graduated from West High School in 1951.

 

She married Robert Dean Sainsbury on Match 17, 1950, they later divorced in May 1973.  She later met and married Warren Sterling Gaston on November 21, 1981 in South Ogden, Utah. Warren and Connie have lived in Holladay, Utah, Boise, Idaho, McKinney, Texas, Ponca City, Oklahoma, Gilbert, Arizona, Layton, Utah, and Farmington, Utah.

 

Connie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

While raising a family she worked at a few different insurance companies including Paul Revere Insurance and enjoyed a nice career at J.C. Penney department store.

 

Connie had a very hard life growing up.  She lived in many different places with many different family members. But the one solid thing she always relied on was her sister Colleen Weaver Poole. Even though they were only a year apart in age Aunt Colleen was always there for Connie.  They will both be missed dearly.

 

Connie loved to support all her children in every activity or sports event they were in….She never missed  an opportunity to love and support her kids.

 

She fell in Love with Golfing after Her and Warren were married.  She was a part of every women’s golf association everywhere they happened to live.  She loved the close companionships she developed with all the other Golfing Ladies.  She also recorded a Hole-In-one on the 7th Hole at Soldier Hollow Golf Course on July 31, 2007. (She was so happy and proud of this accomplishment).

 

Connie loved to entertain!!  She always had the best parties and get togethers at their homes.  Family parties were so fun to go to…The parties and social events with all their friends were always a hit.  She absolutely loved being the hostess!!

 

Connie and Warren were fortunate to travel the world at different times.  They enjoyed many countries and had many amazing times together.

 

Grandma Connie loved all her kids dearly.  She fell in love with each and every grand and great child that came into her life. Grandma Connie rarely missed a birthday or birthday card sent.  All the kids and grandchildren loved their mom and grandma.

 

She is survived by her husband Warren Gaston, Warren’s son Matt Gaston, grandson Nick, Warren’s daughter, Rhonda Ladean (Jo Holmied) Gaston.  Her children; Robert Dean Sainsbury, Jr (Robin), Susan Groen (Meru), grandchildren Paris, Julian, Daniel O. Sainsbury, grandkids; Rebecca (Brandt) Hogge, Heather (Riley) Sainsbury, Daniel O. Sainsbury, Jr. – deceased, Taylor (Alix) Sainsbury,

Annette Cresall, granddaughter Angie Edward, Timothy H. Sainsbury (Jeanette), grandchildren; Jesse Sainsbury, Jenny & Jordan Gillette. Plus many more grandchildren and great-grandchilren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Colleen Weaver Poole and her grandson Daniel O. Sainsbury, Jr.

 

The family would like to give special thanks to all her caregivers, including the staff of Legacy House Assisted Living in Farmington, Utah.

 

Graveside services will be held Thursday July 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Syracuse City Cemetery, 1250 South 1000 West, Syracuse, Utah.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held for close family and friends immediately following the graveside at 2185 North 2300 East Layton, Utah.

 

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
