Colin August “Gus” Dapilmoto, 18, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025. He was born on August 6, 2007, in Palmdale, California, to Bradley Jason and Terri Dawn Dapilmoto. He was a high school senior at Seton Home Study School. His family moved to Andersen AFB Guam when he was 3 years old and the family moved to Layton, Utah when he was 7 years old.
He was a fully initiated Catholic Christian; a parishioner at St. James Catholic Church.
Colin was a kind, sweet, loving, compassionate, hilariously funny, and extremely smart young man. He loved creating music, gaming with his siblings, making people laugh, his pets and all animals. He played drums, and was interested in guitar, piano, photography, and was an exceptional writer and student.
Survived by parents; his siblings, Phoebe Dapilmoto, Preston Dapilmoto, Owen Dapilmoto, Rosealea Dapilmoto, and Jaysen Dapilmoto; and grandparents, Leonila Dapilmoto of San Antonio, TX and Roy and Hazel Hyde of Helper, Utah. Preceded in death by four deeply loved infant siblings; and his grandfather, Gaudiosio Dapilmoto.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11 a.m. St. James Catholic Church, 495 Harrison Blvd., Ogden. A Vigil will be held on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Interment, Evergreen Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, St James Catholic Community, the 388th Fighter Wing, and especially the Hill AFB Commissary family who deeply cared for Colin.
