Clark Kenneth Draayer

February 4, 1934 — June 27, 2022

Sunset

Our loving husband and father died at the age of 88 on Monday June 27, 2022. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family after a short battle with colon cancer. He was born Feb. 4, 1934 to Kenneth and Ruth Briggs Draayer. He grew up on a farm in Clinton, learning the value of hard work. He graduated from Davis High School in 1952 after not missing a single day of school all 12 years. He was an excellent athlete in all sports, but his favorite was basketball.

Clark fell in love and married Vauna Vee (Bonnie) Berrett Sept 21, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and were happily married for over 65 years. They lived most of their married life in Sunset where they raised four daughters and made many close friends.

He worked at RC Willey for 30 years and was known for being a hardworking and dedicated salesman. He also had a passion for being a farmer raising onions and herding cattle. Clark was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings, including Bishop for 6 years and an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple for 15 years.

He patiently taught his family the value of hard work, to be honest in all things, to serve the Lord and how to persevere through trials. Dad overcame many serious health issues without complaint. During the summers he enjoyed his time at Sourdough, his favorite mountain retreat. While there he took great pleasure in feeding the deer, seeing all the wildlife up close, riding 4-wheelers, and relaxing in nature. He also loved spending time on the greens playing golf weekly up until a few weeks ago. He was very proud of his hole in one at Schneiter’s Bluff.

Clark was a great example to his family, friends and all that knew him. He is survived by his loving wife and four daughters; Julie (Jeff) Hall of Layton UT, Dawn (Jim) Heumesser of Scottsbluff NE, Eyvonne (Kent) Littlewood of Kaysville UT, and Nicole (Scott) Tucker of Meridian ID. He has 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Mark Hall.
