Clarence Paul
Peterson

Clarence Paul Peterson (known as Paul) was born April 18, 1937, at home in Collinston, near Brigham City, Utah. He passed away on April 10, 2026.
He spent his early years in Collinston, Wellsville, and Perry before moving to Ogden at age nine, where his family lived on 40th Street and Madison Ave.
He attended school in Wellsville and Ogden, later graduating from Weber High School in 1955. He went on to earn an associate degree from Weber College, a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1960, and a master’s degree in mathematics in 1962 from Utah State University. He also pursued additional studies at the University of Illinois. He later earned a degree in accounting from Weber State College in 1972.
Paul taught mathematics at Utah State University, Brigham Young University, and in Winnemucca, Nevada, as well as the Tree of Life School in Ogden. He also spent many years tutoring students, including many of his nieces and nephews. He worked as an accountant in Ogden and Salt Lake City, including the Utah Farm Production Credit Association. He later finished his career at H&R Block.
A lifelong learner, Paul enjoyed reading, writing computer programs, constructing things, and studying the foundations of mathematics. He was a talented artist, and his family will treasure the artwork he created. He loved to cook and could recreate any recipe from cooking shows that he watched. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and other crafts that he had a natural ability to learn and excel at. Paul had many talents and was a perfectionist who wanted everything to be just right. He especially cherished fishing with his dad and brother Gene, with egg sandwiches always part of the memory.
Paul was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was especially loved by his nieces and nephews, who cherished time spent with him playing games and sharing family traditions. Paul and his sister Karon spent countless hours lovingly caring for their parents later in life.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Polly Ann Haslam Peterson, and father, Clarence Jacob Peterson.
He is survived by his siblings; Karon Peterson, Lois (the late Robert) Deru, Joyce (Rob) Platt, Gene (Jeanne) Peterson, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, learning, and cherished memories with his family.
