Clara Walker

LAYTON - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend passed away from natural causes Tuesday, February 10, 2015.

She was born February 8, 1921 in Logan, Utah to Milton Nephi Hansen and Clara Farrell Raymond where she lived for a short time.  She moved at a young age to Long Beach, California where she spent the majority of her youth. It was there that she met her eternal companion, Gordon S. Walker.  They were married July 25, 1942. Later that year their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.  Gordon preceded her in death March 12, 2011.

Beth was a devoted and life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she faithfully served in many callings.  For many years she actively participated in family history research. Many have received sacred blessings as a result of her service.

Beth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren playing board games and reminiscing about the good times she had raising her children.  She loved to go camping and fishing with her husband, Gordon and friends. They could be found many weekends in the mountains sitting next to a lake eating goodies and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.

Beth is survived by her six children: Phillip Gordon Walker (Anna), Rosemary Martinez, Charlotte Lynn Faulkner, Paula Annette Child (Steve), Loren Duane Walker (Diane), and Elizabeth Lavine (Steve), 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Beth was preceded in death by her husband Gordon S. Walker, her parents Milton Nephi Hansen and Clara Farrell Raymond; and two sisters, Charlotte Ann Anthony and Marilyn Armitage.

Graveside services will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse City Cemetery, 1290 S. 1000 West. Friends may visit with family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd.

Beth’s family gratefully acknowledges the wonderful staff at the Fairfield Village of Layton and gives profound gratitude to the staff at CNS Hospice.  Your heartfelt care, time and love deeply touched our hearts.
