Cleopha Jeanne Richardson Dickson Cogdill

October 29, 1925 ~ May 14, 2016

Our loving wife, mother, and grandmother Cleopha “Jeanne” Richardson Dickson Cogdill passed away on May 14, 2016. She was born on October 29, 1925 in Brigham City to Jedediah Grant and Wanda Bowden Richardson.  She was the second child and oldest daughter of 12 children.

She had a love for learning and developed many talents graduating from nursing school, then cosmetology school, and did custom tailoring as well as being an excellent cook.  Most of all she was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother beloved by her husband and children.

She was sealed to Dee Miner Dickson in the Logan LDS Temple and they had four daughters, Diane (Craig) Service, Judy (Don) Birchett, Debbie (Craig) Cosper, and Janean (Mark) Blackburn.  After their divorce she later married Ben Cogdill and they have been happily married for 45 years.  Ben had five children which she loved as her own, Tamara Liscomb, Brent (Larry), Doug (Jean), Marilyn (Scot) Southwick, and Carol (Steve) Kimball.  Together they have 35 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.

She served in many capacities during her lifetime in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sharing her talents and serving all those she associated with.  She blessed the lives of many young women as she planned and carried out amazing young women Bishop trips filled with lots of fun and adventure.

Her greatest accomplishment was in creating a home filled with love and blending our family.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, all nine of her children, and brothers, Robert and David; and sisters, Kate (Larry) Degunia, and Rhea (Harvey) Christensen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
